Cliff North served with the Hertfordshire Regiment during the Second World War and remained a Territorial for most of his life, going on to support Hertford detachment of the Army Cadet Force. Cliff lived in Davies Street, Hertford and was the town’s official rat catcher. He died in 1997, aged 86.
